Bishop and Mrs. Jeff Chavis came to Spring Lake in August of 1981 as Assistant Pastor. In January of 1985 they assumed the pastorate of the Church. Rev. Chavis is highly respected in the community and among his peers. His strong faith and power with God has led this church in tremendous growth. Along with his leadership skills, he is a very talented guitarist and singer. He served twelve years on the North Carolina District Board as Presbyter of Section Two, and is the National Coordinator for Native North American Ministries of the United Pentecostal Church Int'l. He was recently appointed as the Executive Assistant to the UPCI Multicultural Ministries Director.
His wife Wanda has worked along beside of him through the years, complimenting his ministry with hers. She plays the keyboard, sings, teaches and is a published author and songwriter. Mrs. Chavis is a frequent Conference Speaker for various Ladies Groups across the Country.
February 5th - 7th, 2010, we celebrated with Bishop and Sis Chavis, twenty-five years of pastoral service. During this weekend, the Pastoral reins were handed over to Rev. Brocc Chavis, who now serves as Lead Pastor.

A Great Place To Grow A Family!
The Chavis' have three sons. They have grown up here in the Spring Lake United Pentecostal Church. These young men have been a blessing to the church and to their father's ministry.
Brocc, the eldest son, holds a General License with the UPCI and has Co-Pastored with his father for several years. In 2010 he took the helm as the Pastor and his father moved to the position of Sr. Pastor and Bishop. Now serving as Youth President for the NC District UPCI, Brocc and his wife Randi have three children, Elijah, Logan and Juliana. (See pictures below!) Their leadership and ministry is a blessing to all of us.
Cortt is also a Licensed Minister with the UPCI. He and his wife Amanda have two daughters, Cortney and Sydney and a brand new baby boy. (See pictures below) They served as our Ministers of Music for several years and also as an Associate Pastor on our Pastoral Staff. Doors have opened for them to Evangelize full time now and they are staying very busy; traveling, preaching and singing. They continue also to teach in Music Conferences, Camps and Choir Clinics across the nation. We miss them immensely here in Spring Lake but we know they are fulfilling God's purpose in their lives. Kyle, the youngest of the three sons, has returned from Gateway College of Evangelism in St. Louis, MO, and is now our Music Minister. His talents are a blessing to our entire church and God has a special anointing on this young man's life. Whether playing the keyboard, organ, bass or lead guitar, singing, or directing our praise team... Kyle is definitely connected in worship! We are excited to have him back home and working on our staff!
It is refreshing to see a Pastoral family that are "Practicing What They Preach"!
